# Events and webhooks

Platform events are signed deliveries of durable state transitions. Event envelopes carry `eventId`, `type`, `occurredAt`, a resource projection, and the governing `receiptId`. Consumers should verify signatures, deduplicate by event identity, tolerate redelivery, and re-read the authoritative resource before taking consequential follow-up action.

The AsyncAPI document is the machine-readable event contract. Event delivery reports that a transition was published; the resource remains the authority for current state.
